For me it seams to be definitively the case that "fresh" recordings sometimes
cannot be decoded by cat *.vdr | mencoder - while cutted always work !
I must admit that i can see some pciture distortions on the start of these
stream that cat | mencoder refuses ...
@Bernd: Have you tried anything else to reproduce this ?
