Does your lirc work?
Do you get something without lircd running with the command mode2?
If yes, do you get the keys you teached lirc when running lircd and irw?

If you're sure that lirc works and you compiled vdr with "make
REMOTE=LIRC" delete your /video/remote.conf (or move it out of the way).
Start vdr and you should get into key learing mode, this time with IR
and not the keyboard.
