[vdr] Re: New epg source

The software will need to re-tune the dvb-s card to a particular transponder to grab the epg information for 7 days. This COULD be done at startup. It would also be useful to be able to interact with the epg to ensure that late epg changes from the broadcaster are delivered into VDR.

Also, after a number of running days, the EPG data will start to run out, VDR will need to re-tune to the epg transponder and grab the latest data.

Does any other VDR epg plugin do this kind of thing?

I have written an xmltv -> VDR script (which I will post onto the list
when I get it tidied up properly) that works fine in the UK. There is a
means to get epg information into VDR via the listener on TCP port 2001
(look at the sky perl script on how to do this and do a "man 5 vdr")...

Hello,

I've been working on a new source for UK tv listings. At some point I'll need to start interfacing with the VDR epg interfaces/structures. I kinda hoped vdr might expose an API of some description.

Can anyone point me at a good interfacing document or VDR interfacing howto?

Many thanks,

Steve
