Thanks a lot for this tip.

There is another point I want to mention on this list: All people here
on the mailing list talk about a network card. I use the network
connectors on the mainboards (Elitegroup K7S5A and Epox 8KAl).

Especially the Elitegroup board showed a lot of hidden bugs in the past
e.g. problems with the USB port, capturing with analog TV cards etc.
Additionally, this board likes to put every hardware on one (or at least
two) interrupts so that a lot of components share their interrupts. Is
it possible that this board also has hidden bugs (wanted to say
'features' :-) ) at the LAN port that influences the data transfer? Any
experiences with this board? What about shielding on those
on-board-LAN-solutions?
