well.... i feel good.... that i am not alone with this problem ;)

noe i dont have the autopid patch installed.... and the box was running for 
severall months without trouble...

may i discovered the _bug_ after doing a depmod -a there were unresolved 
symbols in pppoe, ipv6 and something other belonged to network..... but i am 
not such a linux guru that i can say this is the error... in the evening i 
will compile a new kernel with fingers crossed and without unresolved 
symbols... maybe thgis works
