[vdr] Re: OT: Redhat 9/DVB/em8300

I don't use the em8300 but i always use the standard-kernel with redhat
(actually 9.0) to elminate any unwanted sideeffects (the redhat-Kernels are
only my backup-kernels for a case of emergency).

Subject: [vdr] OT: Redhat 9/DVB/em8300

Anyone else have problems compiling the em8300 or DVB drivers under Redhat
9 with the kernel provided by RedHat?

It appears they have modified the remap_page_range functionality in the
2.4 series kernel to the new functionality in the 2.5 kernel.. Sigh,
RedHat are losing the plot..

Has anyone here had any experience of this, could anyone confirm that
downloading and installing a stock kernel source (e.g.
linux-2.4.20.tar.gz) will fix this problem? Or would it be wise for me to
re-install redhat 8?

Regards,
