I think you mixed up Bits and Bytes. A VDR-recording has about 4 MBit/s
= 0.5 MByte/s.
As current disks reach 15 to 25 MByte/s you could theoretically do up to
40 recordings. So with seeking, ... you should be save with 10 to 20
recordings/playbacks at the same time (You should also consider other
processes accessing the disk, but this could be catched by much RAM for
caching).
