I was thinking of a client/server solution based on mplayer.sh. The client's
mplayer.sh could connect to a server and let it do the recoding. This way
you could use the normal mplayer PlugIn for recoding, apart from the
modified shell script. This way I could completely abandon the
mplayercluster PlugIn (which indeed doesn't work very stable, and for which
I have no need anymore, so I won't put my time in developing it any
further...) which is (besides of the network code) a copy of the
mplayer-PlugIn's menu code.
Maybe someone could write a solution based on perl or maybe evel plain bash.
If I really got a lot of spare time maybe I might try putting up on that as
well (but as I'm currently pretty busy investigating streamdev behaviour on
two-card systems as I got hold of a 2nd card for a month, that'll be pretty
unlikely in the next time)
Greetings,
Sascha
