currently I own a DVB-c from Hauppauge and want to switch
to SAT.
Do I have to buy a fullfeatured card (e.g. Nexus)?
Or is it possible to use a low budget card (Nova) together
with the DVB-c card?
Are there any restrictions then?
You can use a budget card for sat and feed the DVB-c full featured card in
transfer mode in vdr. The only restriction at the moment is that current
drivers still require a strong signal on the primary card. Otherwise the
ARM crashes within a couple of hours. However we're hoping this will get
fixed in the future as it did work fine in 0.9.4. It should then be
possible to use a primary card without a signal for decoding.
