Nevertheless the A/V offset is annoying, isn't it.  All
recordings which have commercials without repeating after
the break last few seconds before will lead into bad
cuttings.  You lose audio or video if you do not to see
some short pictures of the commercials and you get very
often the last few audio sequences from a commercial even
if it is no more visible.

One solution would be that the remux part of the VDR uses
two temporary files or buffers (only for a few seconds for
audio and video) and sort accordingly to the PTS information
within the frames (clearly without moving the B-frames ;^).
