I don't think it's any hardware problem, because my vdr box had run for 
about 1.5 years *without any* problems. But since updating vdr to a release 
arounf v1.1.29 and the dvb driver of that date a lot of recordings are 
broken. No HW or kernel changes were made!!! I don't think it's a heating 
problem either as it also happens sometimes when my vdr box started up. 
OTOH it didn't happen before even if my vdr box had been up for a week!

I suggest to try some older dvb driver, something which was current with vdr 
1.1.27/1.1.28.
