Hello Sevie,

I can suggest the Creative Inspire 5700 DD decoder + speaker system. It is a
5.1 speaker system with an amplifier and decoder for Dolby Digital and DTS
(which is supposed to be even better) ! It can also decode the older Dolby
Pro Logic Sourround Sound of course. Moreover it has some nice features like
a simulated 5.1 surround sound with only stereo source and analog in- and
output (4 speaker mode).
AND it is compatible with the LiveAC3patch for VDR.
The overall sound quality is quite good but I am not not an expert in this
field ;) It sounds crisp and clear and the bass is also precise. I don't
know whether it can compete with "real" hi-fi sourround sets but I think it
does a very good job, especially when it comes to price/performance
relations. It costs only ~200 EUR (try mindfactory.de). Only months ago it
was around 350 EUR so the low price now finally convinced me ;)
The only minor cons are : too short cables and only optional "Standfüsse".
All in all , I can only recommend the system. especially as a secondary audio
system.

Bye

Thomas
