Since vdr 1.1.x you can recieve more than one channel (max. 8 w/ a
fullfeatures card AFAIK) on the same transponder and also do
timeshifting with a single card.
So as you said you can connect a second lnb (you could have done that
with vdr 1.0.4 as well...) and thereby recieve channels on two
transponders simultaniously.
