IIRC it should be acpi=nopci
Sorry for not being sure, but my HD, wher I had set this, completely stopped 
to work :-(
I remember, that there was some output while booting that told you how to 
disable partial acpi support. This had been a default kernel.org kernel 
with the latest acpi patch.
