I've been a fan of MPlayer, but know I switching to Xine as internal
structure of MPlayer has come to a dead end (much too static).

There is a MPlayer-plugin and I several times voted for extending it to
a real A/V-backend, but until now it only supports playback of file (no
livetv, no OSD)
