Well, the patch just adds the necessary entries to the makefile to build my additional plugin. With later releases I'll supply my xine CVS sources.

Did you commit your patch to Xine-CVS?

No, I didn't. I had a discussion on the xine ML and it turned out that the current implementation is not a good one. That's why I didn't even try to ask any other xine developer with write access on CVS to put it under control.
