Well, I don't think that allowing VDR to start even if it looses
timers can be called "fault tolerant". It used to do so before version
1.2.3, but after some heavy complaints from Rainer Zocholl I changed
that (and I also believe that not starting at all if the timers.conf
can't be processed correctly is the right way, since then you notice
immediately that something is wrong - not after some days when you wonder
why your important recordings didn't work).
The problems here were introduced by tools that use the NID and TID values
inconsistently. VDR itself has never officially released the use of these
parameters. They will be used as soon as VDR starts processing PID data
itself.
