I "want(tm)" to do this for more than a year now, but i don't find the
time to do it.

Master-Timer is (as the name says) only for (automatic) recording.
vdradmin is a "easy to use" multipurpose-helper for VDR. Which happens
to include a "lightweight" automatic-recording-solution.
master-timer is a single-task program, designed "the unix way" (Do one
thing, but do it right) Or in other words, this is the "heavyweight"
solution for automatic recording.
Automatic recording is not a "sub"-function of a bigger program(like the
autotimer in vdradmin), it's the only purpose of master-timer.

Real Programmers consider "what you see is what you get" to be just as
bad a concept in Text Editors as it is in women. No, the Real Programmer
wants a "you asked for it, you got it" text editor -- complicated,
cryptic, powerful, unforgiving, dangerous.
