This looks ok and is not usefull to track down the problem.

If you try to mount/unmount a source you will get a message on
the OSD in any case (regardless if the mount fails or succeeds).
If you don't get a message there is something fundamental wrong.

The best I can suggest is to add some printf calls to the code
and see what happens.
