I believe so -- it's perfectly happy with the times when deciding
what will be running next, and it's also got the right idea about
what the current time is.

I notice, though, that it's not writing the data out to epg.data,
and if I preload that with the output of the script (minus the
commands, of course) then start vdr the behaviour is the same
and epg.data is emptied again.

(Well, I say "emptied", it actually has a set of:

C T-0-226-2 ABC
c

entries for each station I've looked at since startup.)

I also noticed that xmltv2vdr is producing negative durations
for all programmes, which is rather odd. Here's an example
XMLTV entry and the corresponding output from xmltv2vdr:

<programme start="20031017062000 +1000" channel="C28.ebroadcast.com.au">
    <title lang="en">Mandarin News</title>
    <desc lang="en">News via satellite from CCTV Beijing, in Mandarin, no subtitles.</desc>
    <url>http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/home.html</url>
    <rating system="CTVA">
      <value>(PGna)</value>
    </rating>
  </programme>
