[vdr] dvd playback with progressive scan signal

hi all

i'm wondering if there is ANY way to playback dvds in progressive mode using
vdr.

i have a projector with hdtv resolution 1280x720 with a very bad interlacer,
so i thought feeding it with a progressive signal would be a good idea. 480p
for example - the format in which dvd material is burned onto disc. (pls
correct me if i'm wrong)

anyone got any ideas?
