Because i prefer a "defined state".
So i want VDR to be on channel 1 when i (re)start it.

And VDR needs a bit of time to get encrypted channels right(and only a
few channels aren't encrypted in my setup) so after a few seconds the
"Insert card and press OK"-thing comes up if VDR starts on an encrypted
channel. As i don't use a RC i have to "telnet ... hitk ok" to get ride
of it, or i have to edit the setup.conf before, or i (could) switch(ed)
back to channel 1 before killing VDR.

But as this is only needed about 1-2 times a week and i (still) haven't
had the time to "fix(tm)" it i only feel the "i hate that feature" every
time i have to restart my 2 VDRs.

Real Programmers consider "what you see is what you get" to be just as
bad a concept in Text Editors as it is in women. No, the Real Programmer
wants a "you asked for it, you got it" text editor -- complicated,
cryptic, powerful, unforgiving, dangerous.
