[vdr] Problem - No video at all +no audio unless in daemon mode

I am trying to get vdr to work with Mandrake 10 and the 2.6.5 kernel from
www.kernel.org and the drivers in that kernel. I have tried both vdr
versions 1.2.6 and 1.3.6 the same thing happens. Whenever I run vdr normally
(i.e. ./vdr) the shell just skips to the next line and prints nothing. If I
type ./vdr -d then I get audio but still no picture. I am trying to use my
nebula (no mpeg decoder, adapter0) card to play through my nexus card
(adapter1, no satellite!)

I have downloaded the latest cvs of the dvb (not dvb-kernel) drivers from
linuxtv and they are in ../DVB as needed. As I understand it these are the
2.4.x drivers. Is that causing the above fault?

I know my nebula card are working as running xine dvb:// works perfectly.
