OK. I started with the simple: szap on both cards. Results:
FF card: locks, can play video via netcat with xine on my desktop PC. Fine.
Budget card: no lock. Bad. But this has worked in my computer shack
before, why doesn't it work in my living room? Simple: I overstretched
the SAT cable and broke it. I fixed it, and now VDR is working fine (2
recordings running right now).
Brown paperbag time.
But I think VDR should handle such situations more gracefully, shouldn't it?
