I've mentionned the workaround where I block the process to stop the
choppy sound and the ffmpeg errors.
More precisely, I can get the same result by resizing any window in
windowmaker. If I drag an hold any window, the X display is no longer
refreshed (the little duck in wmbubble stops paddling) and the XV
output of softdevice is also frozen.
So I guess removing the problem is more a matter of blocking
softdevice's video output than blocking the vdr process itself.
When I release the mouse (window resize over), the video is displayed
in accelerated mode and then I get a normal video and sound.
Well, almost, I've noticed that the sound comes about 0.3s before the
video.
I've also recorded the sequence where the sound was out of sync. When
playing the recorded sequence, the sound and video are correctly
synchronized.
