[vdr] DXR3 in Black and White

This is not a xine or vdr specific specific problem..  I am hoping someone with experience with DXR3 card to help me out..

This is what I have:

* Kernel 2.6.7 Mandrake 10
* VDR 1.3.12, Xine v0.99.2
* em8300-0.14.0/ Applied Patch em8300-2.6-0.14-20040313.patch ( I dont know if this is necessary to get it working with Kernel 2.6)

* lspci -v gives:

Everything works great, but video is Black and White from Xine, and and VDR.  From the feedback I recieved on various lists, I tried

1. The original dongle that converted the 7pin svideo to composite out
2. s-video cable is OK.. works with my matrox G400
3. Tried a circuit to convert s-video to conposite.
4. Tried loading the em8300 modules with various parameters provided in http://dxr3.sourceforge.net/howto.html#modparam

Any ideas anyone?  Thanks you!!!
