Hello,
since i use VDR-1.3.14 i get this error every 30 - 60 secs:
Oct 24 18:54:34 mbvdr vdr[10306]: ERROR: CAM: Read failed: slot 1, tcid 2
Oct 24 18:54:35 mbvdr vdr[10306]: ERROR: CAM: Read failed: slot 0, tcid 1
Oct 24 18:55:01 mbvdr vdr[10306]: ERROR: CAM: Read failed: slot 0, tcid 2
Oct 24 18:55:01 mbvdr vdr[10306]: ERROR: CAM: Read failed: slot 1, tcid 1
I never had this problems before. Any hints how i can solve it?
Are you absolutely sure this is related to VDR 1.3.14?
I also have two CAMs here, but don't have such a problem.
Klaus
Yes and no :-)
Yes:
I removed the "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL" variable from runvdr: VDR worked fine, only the CAM-Read errors occured (during replay extremly often)
No:
I reinserted "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL": no CAM-Read errors anymore - so i have to say, that the NPTL problem is not solved for me. I am not at home next week, so i will look at this next weekend.
Thanks for your great work, Klaus.
Martin
Some distros do not have nptl compiled into glibc by default.. like
gentoo for example. Make sure you have glibc built with the proper
flags or NPTL will fail and cause excessive amounts of cpu usage.
