Well, I have come to realize that this "Invalid timestamp" error is 
caused by VLC not streamdev.  I am running Debian Sid and Im not sure 
what changed recently to cause this.  If I remove the "deinterlace" 
switch from the vlc cmd line, then I still get the Timestamp errors but 
now I am able to connect.  So.. if anyone has a clue whats going on, I 
would greatly appreciate it.
