Oh, one more thing: I have a faint hunch that the lockups have always
happened immediately after a channel event has been logged to syslog,
ie. after a line like:

Nov  7 13:50:01 bobcat vdr[14047]: channel 5 (subtv) event 13:50 'Dweezil & Lisa' status 4

I cannot verify that now though.
