[vdr] [ANNOUNCE] Text2Skin 1.0 final

Hi list,

finally, there is the final 1.0 release of Text2Skin.

This release shall mark a temporary Feature-Freeze, since I assume some users
will still find some bugs in this version. Those will be fixed in the 1.0.x
series. After that, there will be most likely a 1.1.x unstable series, in
which new features will be added (i.e. better support for high-color capable
soft-out-plugins).

KEY-FEATURES
 * Redesigned, XML-based rendering engine (no additional xml-libs required!)
 * Support for Functions and assembled texts
 * New format allows differenciated skin-designs including logos
 * TrueType-Font Support (thanks to Lars Tegeler)
 * On-the-fly image scaling and reducing (thanks to Lars Tegeler)
 * Blinking and scrolling text items
  * Functions to support extended logo rendering

There is a perl-script included in the contrib/ subdirectory, which will
convert a pre-XML Skin to the new, XML-based format. Be aware that the script
is neither complete nor perfect. If you want to convert a skin, please refer
to the reference (which is also available online) and to already-converted
skins for examples.

Greetings,
Sascha
