Rotor plugin and DiSEqC commands

I'm getting a rotor and it looks like the rotor plugin assumes it is the first device. Is it possible to put the motor on an unused port so as to have 1 less insertion loss? I will be using a switch for the 2 in 1 lnb and there will be extra unused ports. Also I plan to have a stationary dish also. I found information on controling 1 switch, but nothing about stacking them. How do you control which switch gets a given command in a string of commands?

The SPDIF-Signal comes from J2 and goes to a Marantz SR6300. All Dolby material (DTS/DD/AC3) i've found yet works flawlessly (only small problem is the slow switch of the receiver when the signal) in VDR, mplayer[-plugin] and dvd[-switch]-plugin. So, have you tested the most current driver and firmware for your FF card? current FW: http://www.suse.de/~werner/test_av-f22623.tar.bz2 > Does using the bitstreamout plugin help in any way? I never testet bitstreamout, but i guess it might improve your situation (depending on your soundcard). best regards, Alex :)

MPlayer and Streamdev - sometimes "Stream not seekable!"

Hi, What is the reason that sometimes mplayer v1.0pre8-4.0.2 and streamdev (cvs from 2006-06-30) fails to show picture with sound. Complains about: Stream not seekable! And stops there. This happens with PES. With TS the sound gets through but the video is jerky (complains also about "Stream not seekable!"). Strange thing is that sometimes (most likely someway dependent on the broadcast) the same "Stream not seekable!" error comes but video and sound comes through. Any idea from where to start looking for the reason for this? Oh, mplayer from console works like above. gmlayer fails to play audio at all despite what configuration changes I make. Br, Pasi

[OT] SPDIF and AC3

Hi list. I'm trying to get DD/AC3 *properly* working with vdr and my reciever a Marantz SR5600. PCM works ok right out of the FF card and my A/V Reciever decodes PCM basically OK. However I've found when playing a DVD encoded with DD in a DVD player the reciever properly finds out that the PCM is encoded with DD and makes settings accordingly. Does the SPDIF stream of the FF card miss some headers to make this work? (Of course the transmission needs to be DD encoded.) Does using the bitstreamout plugin help in any way? BR /t

VDR starts VPS recording on status 2 (StartsInAFewSeconds)

Hello, to my understanding of the standard, the status 2 shall be used to set the recording device into a state, in which a recording can start immediately (e.g. power up the harddisk). The recording itself shall start on status 4. In my special case I now have advertisments at the beginning of the recording, which were not recorded when status 2 was not used. Regards O. ATi Remote key repeat

Hi Does anyone know how I can control the repeat rate of my ATi Remote Bob (which appears as a regular keyboard in /dev/input)? It's a great remote, but at the moment (Ubuntu Dapper) I basically can't use it because each button press prodces 4 or 5 events, so I can't use the OSD. Question about log

Hi, According to man pages VDR uses by default the highest level of logging. I didn't change the level but still VDR did not put log anything when TVOnScreen plugin crashed (crashed because there was no EPG data on any channel and enter was pressed few times). Did the plugin crash caused segfault to VDR thus no logging was possible or am I missing something? Br, Pasi
