channelsource for streamdev ?

Hi, Following action: 1. vdr server with dvb-s tuner and streamdev-server running 2. vdr client with a dvb-s tuner and streamdev-client running The client fails to receive the channels provided by the server because it tries to tune with it's owndvb-s tuner first. Is there a way to mark channels as streamdev server as source? HTH. Halim

vdr-1.7.14 -> xineliboutput Rewind and Fast Forward problems in ts recordings

Hi, The problem is the playback stopps after fwd/rev the osd shows wrong position and sometimes the frontend vdr-sxfe hangs. Tested with recordings from german pro Sieben. The problem doesn't occour with old pes recordings. Q: can someone reproduce the problem? Maybe it's related to my setup. I am using unpatched versions of vdr and xineliboutput! xineliboutput is the git version from vdr-developer (today's checkout). BR. Halim

The xxv project team announce this stable release. xxv-1.6 is now our major stable release of XXV the "Xtreme eXtension for VDR", it's containing a large number of bug fixes and enhancements and more. Problem/bug with dual tuner FusionHD7

This has been an on going problem for some time. It may be a driver bug but 2 post to the dvb list got no responce. The card is FusionHD7 Dual Express ATSC tuner card when using the atscepg plugin. After a few hours, sometimes the next day, vdr seems to loose control of one of the tuners, which ever one vdr is not currently displaying from. Doing a timer records seems to trigger it more quickly, but lately it's been with in a few hours regardless of doing a recording. The problem happens after the recordings are done or after a few hours of running. Only vdr needs to be restarted to get the tuner back. I added a second card, a HVR-1800 which becomes the 3rd device and when vdr is left on the first tuner, the second tuner of the dual goes down. If VDR is left on ether the second or the 3rd, then it's the 1st that goes down. If I use the -D option to start vdr without ether the 1st or 2nd tuner so that only one tuner of the dual card is used, then leaving vdr on ether remaining tuner shows no problem. It is only when vdr has access to both tuners of the dual that it looses control of one of them. Removing the plugin seems to fix the problem also but you get no atsc epg data and if it was a pluigin problem, then it should still have problems with just one tuner per card. But the 1800 never goes down and the dual only looses one when both are allowed. Both cards us cx23885 driver but different firmware. This has been a problem since I set this computer up over a year ago. Still shows problem with vdr-1.7.14, plugin from hg 03/29/10 and drivers from hg 01/22/10

Is there an easy way to detect H264 in PlayVideo?

Hello, the dxr3 is using the old PlayVideo interface, so it uses pes packets. Since the card can only decode mpeg1&2, feeding it h264 causes nothing but trouble, so I'd like to detect if the pes packet is an H264 one. So, is there an easy way to detect that a pes packet given by PlayVideo is H264? vdr-xine has an IsFrameH264 function, I tried to use it but it doesn't seem to work in this context. Bye -- Luca

How: vdr 1.6, 2 cards, one smartcard?

Hi, here's my setup: - vdr 1.6 - 2 dvb-c cards by the same brand - 1 CAM reader connected one of the two dvb-c cards - 1 smarcard ok, so how do I tell vdr that the decrypted channels are available on one of the cards, only? Thanks, Hanno

Restricting a particular dvb card from tuning to channels with a selected modulation

Hi, I have an USB DVB-C card (Reddo dvb-c, actually a relabelled Tongshi box), which works very well with the current Linux driver excluding channels with QAM-256 modulation. Would it be easy to check FE_CAN_QAM_256 in vdr before trying to use a device to tune to a particular channel? In such a case I could deactivate FE_CAN_QAM_256 in the drivers. I am using VDR 1.7.9, if it makes a difference. Of course at the moment the proper solution would be to modify the channels.conf to se a preselected card to tune to a particular channel, but in this case there are two drawbacks with it. 1) I have more than one card that I can use for QAM-256 channels and would like to use them all, and 2) channels woth QAM-256 are also encrypted and I have yet to figure out how to set both the CA code and the number of the card in the "Conditional access" parameter in the channels.conf. Actually now that I think of it... How about separating the explicit card selection and conditional access by introducing a new paremeter in the channels.conf that could be used to preselect the card(s) that can tune to the selected channel? -Petri
