Hello,
is there someting special to do in order to have visible OSD with xine launched with opengl ?
Thank,

Yes, that exactly what I did...
for me it works now fine.
So you are lucky :-) for me it only works with "X11 overlay" (all other modes don't shows anything).

I don't see any usefull information at this place ?
But the way,with xshm, xv and xxmc I have OSD, but with opengl and xvmc I can't ???
Thank,
OpenGL is nice, but too slow .. and you need to check fort he right overlay mode in Xine. Then the OSD works .. with standard settings you won't get lucky and do not see anything .. I did do this in the past.
Take xv or better xxmc, if you are able to get it working, as it has best quality with less CPU.

My GL implementation is quiete good : nvidia one, and I like the transparency I can have with Xgl/compiz which mean opengl is a must here !!!
Everyone should really try Xgl and compiz :-)
That's the next userinterface ;-)
My biggest problem is that I can't zoom with opengl... and of course the missing OSD is also a problem. -- Grégoire FAVRE
But you have to zoom most of the times. I use 1024x768 pixles @ 100HZ to overcome all the deinterlacing sh... :-)
Use "auto" settings on the video settings in Xine and everything is fine. Scaling, OSD .. with little CPU load. So why fiddle arround with something, that only works half.
I am using Pentium M 1,7GHz with a NVIDIA FX 5200 ..

I don't have any problem... but I am at 1920x1200 on a Dell 24"
Your choice is not mine : of course Xgl and compiz are still in early stage, but it's really promissing !!!
I am using Pentium M 1,7GHz with a NVIDIA FX 5200 ..
I have an amd64 3000+ which is more than enough, xine and Xgl together take less than 25% CPU even when my CPU is at 1Ghz (I use Cool'n'Quiet).
So this long thread for no response at all... ;-)
now I get:
xine -V opengl -> 100% CPU xine -V xxmv -> warped OSD xine -V xv -> brown screen xine -V xshm -> warped OSD xine -V vidix -> xine don't start xine -V vidixfb -> xine don't start xine -V fb -> xine don't start
X Driver is "i810"
I demand that Patrick Fischer may or may not have written...
now I get:
xine -V opengl -> 100% CPU
Hmm. Slow here too.
xine -V xxmv -> warped OSD
This doesn't work here (expected), but *apparently* ATI cards are able to do hardware decoding. It's merely a matter of somebody getting the necessary information and writing an open-source driver...
xine -V xv -> brown screen xine -V xshm -> warped OSD
Both work properly here.
xine -V vidix -> xine don't start xine -V vidixfb -> xine don't start
Neither work here (expected).
xine -V fb -> xine don't start
Try again from without X :-)
