Front view of the Plextor PX-AV100U

The Plextor Corp. ConvertX PX-AV100U is an USB audio/video capture device from Plextor based on the EM2820 chip. It has a case design similar to the Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U and has the same case as the Plextor ConvertX PX-TV100U which has a coaxial jack for TV input on its rear panel.

It requires a separate USB B to type A connector so it can be connected to the computer. It works under Linux.

Making it Work

A patch to add support for this device was submitted to the linux-media mailing list on December 31st 2011. On January 2nd 2012, the patch was processed and the Linux kernel has since been patched.
