FM Radio Receiver

I didn't get sound with the FM radio receiver with any radio application. After double checking every thing, I found a solution with mplayer:

mplayer -rawaudio rate=48000 radio://2/capture -radio adevice=hw=2:arate=48000:channels=93.8-Radio_Zones,94.7-SSR_1

hw:2 is the sound output of my hvr-4000 and I am using rate=48000 because I am running jackd all the time at that rate. With another rate, it work, but with a lot of alsa xruns.

I am not sure if this example must be or not included into the article. I also don't understand why applications like gnomeradio are not working well, and that even if jackd is not running.
