In relation to V4L-DVB devices, a PCIe interface chipset is a bridge between the device's receiver (in the case of TV tuner devices) and A/V inputs (in the case of some devices) and the host computer's PCIe "bus" (which really isn't a traditional bus, but rather a point to point serial connect lane(s)). Some examples of PCIe interface chipsets that are used in V4L-DVB PCI cards include:
