A Non-Disclosure Agreement (short NDA) is a contract between a developer and a silicon vendor to protect Intellectual Property.

If you sign one be sure that you are explicitly allowed to write an Open-Source driver if you want to do so thenafter. If signed between companies be sure to make it a Mutual NDA.

NDAs are usually limited to a duration somewhere between 6 months and 3 years.
