Philips Semiconductors produced a variety of chipsets, found in both STB and PC hardware, related to analogue and digital signal applications. Examples of such chipsets include the TDA8083, TDA10021 and TDA10046 demodulators.
In October 2006, Philips sold their controlling interest in this subsidiary to a private equity group, and it was subsequently renamed. See NXP Semiconductors.
