How to Downgrade the Kernel?

Hello, I had downgraded my Kernel-2.2.12-2 to
Kernel-2.2.5-15 from RedHat 6.0. I had succesfully
compiled, installed, boot with the new kernel.
I do this for installing BROADLOGIC DVB driver.
They refuse to make driver for 2.2.12-2 and other kernel.
I had run "make modules" and "make modules_install"/
The problem:
1. SYSTEM.MAP: Warning! error version of kernel.
2. MODPROBE: cannot find ppp0, char-major-6 modules
Any idea how to solve the above 2 problems?
