I ordered some samples weeks ago but they are still not delivered. And I 
could not find any distributor which was willing to deliver the 33V 
converter at acceptable prices in quantities less than 3000pcs.

That's why I ordered the Linear converters, so right now we'll use them. 
If Maxim improves availablility of their devices we can consider to use 
them in another project...

Do you know a company which could solder the chips on the PCB for decent 
prices? Maybe only the LT1940 (with underside GND metal plate) and the 
FX2 to save costs?
