Andreas Böttger wrote to me yesterday about this and he told me that
mplayer _is_ able to replay new recordings from RTL. Also, as I stated
above, the old firmware together with the new driver and VDR is also
able to replay them. So my guess would be that the problem _is_ in the
replay process. Whether the actual bug is in the driver or the firmware
is, maybe, hard to tell, but from what I've traced through the driver
so far it seems like at some point the firmware simply doesn't accept any
more data. I've also dumped the MPEG data from a new RTL recording and compared
it to an old recording, but there's nothing in there that would indicate
any obvious problem (although, of course, the problem may be in a single
bit of data, which is easy to miss when just looking at the dump...).
