[linux-dvb] DVB in South Africa --- a CAM problem?

Hi

The travails continue.... I can now tune to the signal but I do not
see a picture or hear sound.

- I am checking for the picture on the cinch output, not on the VGA
monitor. I see the ARM booting here, do I need to do something else to
make the picture appear there (ie the DVB-s card is working, I just
don't notice)?

- I have tried the CVS driver(s) 2002-01-09 (with the patches for the
TT firmware) and the CVS driver from 2002-12-21.

- Output of dvbtune (to a service on the W4 satellite):
carmen:/usr/src/DVB/sf.apps/dvbtune# ./dvbtune -f 12476000 -s 26040 -p
H -v 80 -a 81

Looks like everything is working (to me anyway), but no picture :(

The dvbtune command was based on the following "dvbtune -i" output:
<transponder type="S" freq="12476000" srate="26040000" polarity="H" >
<service id="102" ca="1">
<description tag="0x48" type="1" provider_name="MCK" service_name="MM"
/>
<ca_system_descriptor system_id="0x0604"  />
<stream type="2" pid="80">
</stream>
<stream type="4" pid="81">
<iso_639 language="eng" type="254" />
</stream>
</service>
-------------

I can, on a different satellite (PAS7, as W4 has no FTA channels),
receive a Free To Air radio channel --- so I am fairly certain that
this is a CAM issue (I am switching smartcards for the different
satellites).

I am using an Irdeto CAM made by SCM. This CAM works under Windows and
in other decoders.

How can I further debug this? Is there a way to check the CAM in the
newstruct driver (I haven't found the place in the driver where it is
addressed)?

And finally, to all a happy and prosperous new year!

Alexis
