[linux-dvb] Re: av7110_loadkeys and ARM crashes
Andreas Mair wrote:
Hello,
I'm using the IR receiver of my DVB-S v2.1 Hauppauge card with DVB v1.00pre2
drivers and vdr v1.1.26 with remote-plugin.
This weekend I noticed some ARM crashes. After that I couldn't control vdr
any longer. I loaded the keys again and and I had my RC control back.
I think this behaviour is bad, just think of those people who don't have a
keyboard at their DVB box...
Is there no other way to get this working nicely?
Of course the ARM can crash, but It shouldn't.
Would it be possible to let the av7110 kernel module take care of its IR
keys or to run some program after ARM crash (don't like 2nd way)?
Or is there a way to see if there are no keys loaded (so the e.g. the
vdr-remote plugin could reload the keys)?
shouldn't be too hard, we would have to cache the IR config word and
restore it in the ARM recovery function. (there are some other states
which get not restored correctly right now, we'll have to care about
those too - ). If you have some time and energy to do this please send a
patch,
Holger
