[linux-dvb] How to recover from EOVERFLOW ?

Hi,

when trying to use mencoder directly from dvb, such as

mencoder -oac copy -ovc xvid -o /dev/null dvb://Sat1

after few minutes I get a EOVERFLOW during read.

As far as I remember  this means that I didn't read fast enough (even
though the error's name seems
more like there isn't enough data in the drivers buffer), right?

How to recover from cases like these? Keeping on read()ing just fails
again.
