Interesting.  Just to add one more observation.  Since updating from kernel
2.6.0pre9 to 2.6.1-mm2 I notice that mythtv has started recording some
programs without sound.  It has only happened twice or so in the last few
days.  But today, live TV wasn't recording sound and it did restart after
stopping recording and then resuming (no need to unload drivers I think?)

I don't believe that mythtv code has changed substantially in this area, and
until I saw this post I had assumed some random problem in the myth code...
Perhaps not though.
