[linux-dvb] dvb modules mpegtools mandrake rpms

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=13488&package_id=30929

These package are for mandrake 9.1 but the source rpms are provided and
you can just rpm --rebuild them for 9.2 as well. The last time the dvb
modules did just work fine and the apps as well. I just have no time now.

For mandrake 10.0 (with kernel 2.6), skip the drivers, and recompile
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ just the userland tools rpms!

Provided:
dvb-modules
dvb-modules-devel
dvb-modules-apps
linuxtv-dvb-modules
linuxtv-dvb-devel
linuxtv-dvb-apps
libdvb-mpegtools
libdvb-devel

* dvb-modules 1.0.1 20040221
- based on cvs:DVB snapshot from linuxtv.org
- these are the old modules for 2.4 - do not confuse them with the newer
  cvs:dvb-kernel modules also shipped in 2.6
- there are some problems with current dvb-kernel drivers, so these have
  been rebuild again - the cvs has only seen minor patches since 1.0.1
- the */bin apps (szap/scan) have been split off to their own supackage
  to allow to _not_ use it - better use instead new linuxtv-dvb-apps rpm!
- nethertheless, dvbdate, dvbnet, av7110_loadkeys are provided now as
  well in the apps subpackage
- the binary names have been changed to match linuxtv-dvb-apps, the
  directory structure of share/dvb data is the same as in linuxtv-dvb-apps
- as always, upon install the dvb-modules rpm will remove the _broken_ dvb
  modules shipped with standard mandrake kernels - but they are moved to a
  backup and reinstalled to their previous location upon removal of the rpm.
  That allows you to give it just a test if you are unsure about it.

* linuxtv-dvb 1.1.0 20040222
- based on cvs:dvb-kernel snapshot from linuxtv.org
- these are the new modules as integrated in 2.6 - they provide a v4l2
  compatibility layer to run inside 2.4 as well.
- this package is the one you need for newer hardware not supported in
  the old dvb-modules releases
- it provides a virtual package dvb-modules so it can be drop-in for the old
- since 1.1.0, the apps have been split off to their own tarball

* linuxtv-dvb-apps 1.1.0 20040221
- based on cvs:dvb-apps snapshot from linuxtv.org
- which includes some of patches shipped with earlier rpms from me ;-)
- all userland apps are installed and the naming matches dvb-modules-apps
- it provides a virtual package dvb-modules-apps to be drop-in for the other
- it is safe to use this along with either dvb-modules or linuxtv-dvb-modules!

* libdvb 0.5.4
- based on release tarball 0.5.4 (where is the cvs anyway?)
- installs all mpegtools (as dvb_*) including ts2* pes2* tools for recording
- provides virtual package dvb-mpegtools to be drop-in for earlier package

and remember, if you have your own system, just recompile the source rpm!

have fun,
