Some hints for all the messages above.

I was having problems with a K7s5a Mainboard from Hauppauge with SIS-Chipset
735. With a SIS-Chipset, you should try the following bootoptions:
"noapic pci=noacpi", this helps on my machine.

With Suse 8.2 do before compiling the driver:
1. make cloneconfig
2. make dep
3. Now you can compile the drivers with a standard suse kernel.
