I'm bailing out at this point...

Tried to compile dxr3-0.2.3-pre2 with vdr-1.3.12 and dvb-20041010.tar.bz2
(last night's CVS snapshot), and I still get

make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/vdr-1.3.12/PLUGINS/src/dxr3-0.2.3-pre2'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/vdr-1.3.12/PLUGINS/src/dxr3-0.2.3-pre2'
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/vdr-1.3.12/PLUGINS/src/dxr3-0.2.3-pre2'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `dvbdev.h', needed by `dxr3.o'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/vdr-1.3.12/PLUGINS/src/dxr3-0.2.3-pre2'

where is this dvbdev.h supposed to come from? It appears the .dependencies
stage is severely broken.

dxr3-0.2.2 throws even more compile errors with the above combo, far too
many to list.

To answer Nicolas' question: No, the Epia-5000 is not even remotely able
to soft decode MPEG2. This is a 533 MHz C3 CPU. You're mixing this up
with a CLE266 equipped board with which you might be able to use viaexp.

Going back to putting the DVB rev 1.3 card in my Epia... *sigh*
