AFAIK there is a special data structure in the DVD data stream that gives
the player a "double linked list" that allows him to search frames backwards
and forward, which isn't contained in the "normal" DVB broadcasts. Therefore
VDR will still need the index file to search/skip while replaying, and to position
to a specific location.
