Once upon a time JAF shaped the electrons to say...

>How noisy is it?

For a device that is intended to be used on the desktop
it's a bit too laud.

The parts used are not really cheap+bad, but still too noisy.

You can replug the supply FAN between the 5V and 12V lines
so it runs with 7V or replace it with a temperature controlled one.

The CPU Fan can be down powered by a 3V3 Zener-Diode
in the 12V line (Let em run at 8,7 V)

I added a 40mm Fan at the RiserCard to cool the 2 "long"
DVB-S cards. Nova Cards seems not to run or i allways get
the broken ones... Take care that the CPU fan will not be too near the
CAM Plug, else it would become louder :-)

If you do that, make sure, that the power management really
works.
Without that, the box dissipate 76W(!), with only 50W (PIII 1GHz)
The "BIOS Idle Calls" do not work, so don't activate it in kernel.
